In 2003, Sophie Buhai graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York and went on to co-found fashion brand Vena Cava. In 2015, she set her sights on founding Sophie Buhai, a jewelry brand in Los Angeles. During this time, she also designed jewelry for the french brand Lemaire. Sophie Buhai’s timeless jewelry has gained a following for numerous reasons: each piece is locally made reducing waste and carbon footprint, each piece is designed with the intention so it can be passed down for generations, and uses only recyclable and responsibly sourced sterling silvers and golds. In 2021, they began to make home decor objects with 18 karat gold. Her pieces are found in the Hollywood hills and made in Los Angeles making each piece more unique than the last.
